What to expect

What happens on a tune-up.

  1. Electrical check

Capacitors, contactor, wiring and connections are tested, because these fail first in the heat.

  2. Coils and drain

The outdoor coil is cleaned and the drain line is cleared so water goes outside, not into the ceiling.

  3. Refrigerant and temperatures

Pressures and the temperature drop across the coil tell us whether the system is moving heat the way it should.

  4. Airflow and filter

Blower, filter and vents are checked. Poor airflow is behind a lot of comfort complaints.

  5. Report

You get a written summary: what is fine, what to watch and what, if anything, needs attention.

AC Maintenance and Tune-Ups questions

Straight answers.

How often should an AC be serviced?

Twice a year is the usual advice in Central Texas: cooling in the spring and heating in the fall.

Is a membership worth it?

If you plan to keep the system, usually. Two visits a year catch small problems, and members get 10% off repairs and priority scheduling.

Will a tune-up turn into a sales pitch?

No. We fix first. You get a report of what we found, and anything optional is yours to decide.
